Cloud data backup is the process of automatically storing corporate data on remote servers, minimizing the risk of data loss in the event of technical failures, cyber-attacks or human error. The advantage is that you can access your backups from anywhere and quickly restore them when needed.

Cloud backup stores data on remote servers and is available anytime over the Internet, while local backup uses physical devices (e.g. NAS, servers, external drives). It is safest to combine both solutions to minimize the risk of data loss.

The best way to do this is to regularly test data recovery to verify that backups are working as expected. Proper IT administration will also provide backup success notifications and automated data status reports.

Strong WPA3 encryption, network separation for guests, firewalls and regular monitoring of network activity are essential. We also recommend network segmentation (VLAN) to reduce the risk of unauthorized access.

Signs of an attack can include unusual internet slowdowns, service outages, unauthorised devices on the network or increased firewall activity. Deploying threat detection systems (IDS/IPS) and regular security audits can help.

The password is usually changed via the company VPN portal or through the IT department. For higher security, we recommend using two-factor authentication (2FA) and long passwords combining numbers, letters and special characters.

Most businesses have a self-service password reset set up, which you can find on the Microsoft 365 login page. If you don’t have it enabled, contact your IT department or system administrator.

In Microsoft Teams, you can send an invitation via the “Add a guest” section within the team. If this option is not available, you may need permission from your organization’s IT administrator.

Files are stored in Microsoft SharePoint or OneDrive, depending on whether they are shared within a team or individually between users.

The best strategies include migrating to cloud solutions, automating processes, outsourcing IT support, and managing software licenses efficiently. Regular IT analysis can identify unnecessary expenses and find ways to reduce them.

We recommend regular auditing of licenses through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. We can help you optimize them so you don’t pay for unused or inefficient licenses.

Cloud solutions offer greater flexibility, reduced IT infrastructure costs and better security through regular updates and backups. Moving to the cloud also makes it easier to work remotely and collaborate as a team.
